Parent Teacher Organizations/Associations
Following extensive research and experience over many years, the National PTA maintains that "Parent and family involvement increases student achievement and success."
National Standards for Parent/Family Involvement Programs were developed by the National PTA in collaboration the National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education (NCPIE). These standards (click on the link above to view them) were created to be used in conjunction with other national standards to support the overall learning and success of children. Parental involvement is actually one of the eight National Education Goals: Every school will promote partnerships that will increase parental involvement and participation in promoting the social, emotional and academic growth of children.
